VOLT LIGHTING GROUP

Graphic Design | UI Design | Art Direction | Branding | Production Art | Marketing

In my largest role to date, I served as the lead graphic designer at Volt Lighting Group, an architectural LED Lighting company based in Beaverton, OR. Below is a collection of projects completed while working at Volt.

WEBSITE REDUX 2.0

Volt Lighting Group had the customers but lacked a proper web presence. Redesigning their online platform was a top priority.

Due to the complexity of a catalog-based website, Volt's pre-existing development team created a website with a relatively intuitive UX but unsatisfactory UI.

DEVELOPMENT

For a company with over 200 products to showcase, an easy-to-navigate design was critical.

To improve usability, I focused on a minimalist black-and-white design supported by modern typography and gold accents to enhance the tone of modern luxury.

IMPLEMENTATION

Using sketches, wireframes, workflow software, and WordPress, I worked with freelance web developer Ryan Niswonger to overhaul the existing UI and implement the new design shown below.

CONTENT

To ensure consistency, all product documents were brought in line with the new website’s aesthetic.

PROTOTYPING

My role at Volt Lighting Group was anything but straightforward. Drafting, conceptual planning, and rendering all fell under my roof and often led to innovative products such as this wall-mounted lighting bracket.

MARKETING DONE RIGHT

A website is only half the battle. My trade show displays and email campaigns bolstered their site traffic and nearly doubled their quotes queue over a two-month period.
